Requirements / Qualifications

Applicants MUST meet the Paraeducator proficiency requirement in any one of the following ways: • Complete 48 semester or 72 quarter college units (SEE NOTE BELOW) • Hold an AA or higher degree (SEE NOTE BELOW) • Pass the CBEST • Pass the District’s “ESSA - Every Student Succeeds Act” test PLEASE NOTE: If you have completed college or university coursework in an institution in a country other than the United States, you MUST obtain a FOREIGN TRANSCRIPT EVALUATION.

Fingerprint & TB Clearance will be required. Paperwork for fingerprinting will be provided upon hire. Important Notice: There are no preferences. The expectation is that priority substitutes work every day unless they inform the substitute technician that they can’t work that day. Substitute technicians will assign the job; priority substitutes can not create or arrange their own assignments. Assignments will included special day class and 1:1 paras working with mild/mod or intensive disabled students preschool thru age 22.
