Job Description and Duties Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Academic Instruction, the Teacher-Academic Education will plan, organize and supervise classroom activities including reading, writing and math functions; will develop and prepare curriculum and daily lesson plans; attend training and maintain a working knowledge of Institution/Education Orders, policies and procedures; Counsel incarcerated individual students regarding progress and performance; prepare reports as necessary; prepare supply requisitions; maintain control and discipline in classroom and conduct searches of classroom for contraband and weapons. The teacher will follow the approved curriculum for the level of the assigned students. Requirements / Qualifications

The position(s) require(s) a(n) California Teaching Credential License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired. Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you should include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.

Minimum Qualifications Teacher All applicants must possess a valid California Teaching Credential issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Applicants who do not possess the required credential or one of equivalent authorization may take the examinations but must have on file with the Commission on Teacher Credentialing an application for an appropriate credential. At the time of application for the examination, applicants must present written verification that the appropriate listed credential or its' equivalent is being processed or will be authorized. Elementary-Multiple Subjects Possession of: 1. A Multiple Subject Credential. or 2. A Standard Elementary Credential. or 3. A General Elementary or General Secondary Credential.
