BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Orcutt Expanded Learning (OEL) Program Administrator, plans, organizes and directs the operation of the Before and After School Orcutt Expanded Learning (OEL) Program; assumes and performs related work as necessary or required. The Director of Orcutt Expanded Learning shall also oversee the activities of the District OEL Coordinator and School Site OEL Coordinators; train and provide work direction to personnel. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: Implement and supervise all program policies. Ensure program compliance with all district wide policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, including funding allocations, and standards of quality and safety. E Prepare the agenda and facilitate weekly meetings with School Site OEL Coordinators. E Participate in Program Review Training offered by the State. E Conduct program reviews at each site. E Coordinate program activities at all sites. E Assist School Site OEL Coordinators with parent concerns. E Review and approve employee hours in excess of regular hours in consultation with the OEL Administrator. E Coordinate the development of employee schedules. E Determine number of employees, hiring dates and site assignments. E Organize and facilitate new employee orientation. E Provide oversight for the program budget in collaboration with district finance leadership. E Coordinate policies and procedures for registration, enrollment and attendance reporting. E Monitor employee attendance. E Interact with District payroll and personnel departments regarding: proficiency Director, Orcutt Expanded Learning Page 2 9/26 OUSD testing, fingerprints, CPR/first aid, medical exams, TB testing, union contract rules, employee scheduling, absences and leaves. E Conduct employee evaluations. E Facilitate periodic parent surveys and oversee development of OEL parent handbook. E Supervise on-going publicity throughout the year. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: An Associate of Arts degree in child development with childcare certification, and three years’ experience as supervisor or coordinator of school-age children in an organized setting. Continuing education in child development is highly desirable.
