Experienced teachers are hired as “Certificated Contracted” to assist district schools throughout the county of Los Angeles in providing Practicum Supervision services to new teacher candidates (district interns). Practicum Supervisors work with interns (candidates) who hold district intern credentials and are working to earn their Preliminary teaching credentials. LACOE Practicum Supervisors guide candidates through the Intern process of designing, planning, analyzing, and reflecting in order to meet the California Teacher Performance Expectations. This role functions within the Beginning Teacher Programs Division of Educational Services. To ensure program consistency and excellence, instructors operate under the direction and supervision of Program Coordinators, with strategic guidance provided by the Program Director. Location: Various locations in Los Angeles County (see the 8 regions within LA County on map linked in”View Job Description”) Ability to travel/drive is required. Key Duties & Responsibilities Candidate Support & Coaching: -Monthly Supervision: Provide 3 hours of targeted support per candidate each month. -Classroom Observations: Conduct 2 observation cycles per month. 50% of observations will be done through video recording and 50% of the observations will be done in-person at the school site. Observation cycles will include a pre-observation meeting, observation, and observation debrief (total of 4-5 hours per month per intern) -Growth Planning: Collaborate with candidates and site-based mentors to develop and maintain an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP). -Feedback & Modeling: Provide timely, actionable feedback and model best teaching practices to facilitate candidate growth. Administrative & Professional Duties: -Mandatory Training: Participate in a 2-hour initial synchronous training and up to 4 subsequent professional development sessions throughout the year. -Reporting: Maintain ongoing communication with the

Qualifications: -Experience facilitating the full clinical supervision cycle, including the delivery of pre-observation consultations, formal classroom observations, and post-observation reflective coaching to drive teacher candidate growth -Deep understanding of state-adopted academic content standards, curriculum frameworks, and California TPEs. Experience: -Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience Education: -A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher learning -A Master’s Degree in Education or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning (preferred) Credential: A valid California Teaching Credential -Multiple Subject -PK-3 Early Childhood Education Specialist Instruction (high need) -Single Subject: -SS- Math (high need) -SS- Science (high need) -SS- English -SS- Social Studies -SS- PE (high need) -SS- Spanish Technical Proficiency Requirements: Practicum Supervisors must demonstrate proficiency in the following platforms to maintain accurate documentation of attendance, participation, grading, and feedback: -Google Suite -Microsoft Office -Zoom -Canvas (Learning Management System)
