Job Summary

Job Summary

The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking experienced educators for our District Intern General Education Instructor Pool. Successful candidates are hired as Certificated Contract Consultants to facilitate graduate-level teacher preparation coursework. This instruction is strictly aligned with California Accredited Program Standards and Teacher Performance Expectations (TPEs). Instructors provide essential support to District Intern or Pre-intern candidates in the evening while those candidates serve as teachers of record in their respective classrooms. This role functions within the Beginning Teacher Programs Division of Educational Services. To ensure program consistency and excellence, instructors operate under the direction and supervision of Program Coordinators, with strategic guidance provided by the Program Director. Location: All classes are taught online via Zoom.

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications: -In-depth knowledge of state-adopted academic content standards, curriculum frameworks, and California Teaching Performance Expectations (TPEs) across elementary, secondary, and early childhood (PK-3) spectra. -Expertise in candidate assessment systems (such as the CalTPA, literacy performance assessments, and early childhood tools like the DRDP) to model data-driven instructional planning. Comprehensive understanding of diverse pedagogical frameworks, ranging from play-based and developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood (PK-3) to content-specific methodologies for middle/high school (Single Subject) and multi-disciplinary instruction (Multiple Subject). Experience: -Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience in the TK-12th grade range -Minimum of 2 years of experience facilitating professional development or college-level coursework, specifically tailored to the unique needs and learning styles of adult professionals Education: -A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher learning -A Master’s Degree in Education or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning (preferred) Credential: A valid California Teaching Credential: -Multiple Subject -PK-3 Early Childhood Education Specialist Instruction -Single Subject Teaching Credential
