Job Summary

Supervise and support students in the TIDES After School Program. TIDES offers outdoor play, snack and enrichment activities for students in grades 1-8. Current opening is for four days a week, Monday - Thursday from 2:30 - 5:30 with potential to increase hours once trained filling in for other staff members. Benefits include professional development opportunities and paid sick days. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: -Collaborate with and take direction from the TIDES Coordinator -Help plan, organize, implement and supervise the activities of first through eighth grade children in a group setting -Assist in overseeing the health and safety of the children -Serve snack; clean-up following snack -Report accidents or unusual incidents to the Director and fill out accident reports as needed -Complete closing duties, including clean-up of classrooms or other associated areas -Attend educational workshops, when available -Work in both indoor and outdoor academic and recreational settings -Know and follow the philosophy of the program -Other duties as assigned by the TIDES Coordinator or School Director

Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS Clear background check through livescan fingerprinting Clear TB Test Must be at least 18 years of age Education in the child-care field along with child development experience is desired Bloodborne pathogen training is required and will be provided upon employment Community CPR is preferred and training will be provided upon employment Physical conditioning includes the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and lift a moderate amount of weight Fast-paced environment, requiring an energetic, enthusiastic, and well-organized employee
