Job Summary

My Village School is a private specialized school in West Hills that offers individualized instruction and very small-group instruction for up to three students. Our school setting and approach are different from a traditional school. We are looking for caring, patient, and dependable professionals who genuinely enjoy working with children, want to make a meaningful difference in a student's life, and are willing to think outside the box, work creatively, and collaborate as part of a supportive team. We are looking for someone who cares about students, is patient and supportive, and wants to be part of a team that works differently. The right person is willing to be flexible, think creatively, and help each student succeed in a way that is meaningful for that individual child. Provide school-based psychological/DIS counseling based on students' IEP needs and within credentialed scope. Support students with emotional regulation, social-emotional development, self-advocacy and other assigned counseling goals. Monitor progress, maintain documentation and participate in IEP/student-team meetings as needed. Consult and collaborate with teachers, families, and related-service providers. Provide crisis-related support when appropriate within professional scope. Formal psychoeducational assessment is not a routine responsibility of this position.

Current California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential with School Psychology authorization.

Experience providing counseling to students with disabilities is preferred. Calm, patient, approachable, and able to build strong relationships with students. Comfortable working collaboratively and creatively in a nontraditional specialized school setting.
