Position purpose Under the direction of the Executive Site Director, the Special Education 1:1 Aide will provide intensive individual support services to their assigned student (1:1) identified as having significant behavior and/or academic needs. Duties/Responsibilities/Functions/Tasks ? Work with assigned student or students; ? Ability to approach students with an attitude of understanding, patience, and calm; ? Provide accommodations and supports as written on the IEP; ? Collect data on a daily basis to gather information used by IEP team to develop annual IEP goals and objectives; ? Maintain appropriate documentation, records, and reports; ? Consult and collaborate with Sped Team about student progress; ? Participate in trainings for SpecEd and GenEd topics as scheduled ? Performs other related duties as assigned. ? Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions. ? Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Preferences ? First Aid and CPR training desirable. ? One year of paid or volunteer experience working with school-age children. Work Requirements ? Able to bend at waist, kneel, or crouch to assist students; ? Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; ? Able to lift and carry weights up to 25 pounds;
