We have an opportunity for those looking to become an Educational Assistant to work in various K-8th grade classrooms alongside credentialed teachers to support the learning of approximately 25 students per classroom. The EA will also be responsible for supervising snack times and lunch duty and other miscellaneous tasks to support student learning. Some small group work may be part of the job. The work hours are 8:30- 12:30 M and 8:30-3:00 T-F which totals 29.75 hours per week at $20/hr.. This position lasts for the duration of the school year. The foundation for learning at Innovations Academy is inquiry through project-based learning. The ideal candidate will have experience with some type of learning that involves more than paper and pencil and calls children to inquire about their world. We want Educational Assistants who are responsible, interested in education, and able to work with students using no punishments/no rewards. We use Positive Discipline/Restorative Justice as our approach with the ultimate goal of creating intrinsically motivated citizens. We are a creative school with a lot of hands-on learning.
