Job Summary

The Event Safety and Preparedness Coordinator reports to the Director of Event Safety and Preparedness and is led by the Assistant Director of Event Safety and Preparedness. The Coordinator provides advanced operational and administrative support for schoolwide event safety and emergency preparedness by assisting with event operations, safety procedures, operational readiness, resource deployment, departmental communications, and other assigned functions. Working closely with department leadership, the Coordinator helps carry out established safety plans and procedures and provides hands-on support before, during, and after school-sponsored events to promote safe, organized, and welcoming environments for students, families, staff, and community members. The Coordinator may also provide in-person operational and administrative support at the GMCS administrative office as assigned.

Comments and Other Information

Must be a primary resident of California. Granite Mountain is not an employer in any other state. Must be able to attend in-person events throughout San Bernardino and neighboring counties. Attends in-person scheduled professional development sessions, regional back-to-school events, assists at our graduation and promotion ceremonies, community resource fair, state testing, and other in-person events as needed. Provides in-person support at the GMCS administrative office as assigned by greeting visitors, helping maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment, monitoring common areas, assisting with meeting and event setups, and providing light office support. Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Granite Mountain participates in E-Verify.
