Job Summary
The Director of Compliance oversees and ensures district-wide adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws, the California Education Code, and internal board policies. Situated within the Human Resources department, this role directs statutory personnel reporting, manages California Public Records Act (CPRA) requests pertaining to employee data, and serves as the district’s Title IX Investigator. * Please review the attached job description for a summary of essential duties and responsibilities, as well as other pertinent information.
Requirements / Qualifications
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skill is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skill would be: EXPERIENCE Successful teaching or counseling services, school site leadership, such as assistant principal or principal; possible experience may include work at the district level in areas closely related to human resources. EDUCATION • Education: California Administrative Services Credential (Master’s preferred). • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in HR compliance, labor relations, or educational administration, ideally within a California K-12 public school system. • Specialized Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of the California Education Code, CPRA exemptions, Title IX regulations, and employment laws (FEHA, EEOC). • Certifications: ATIXA (Association of Title IX Administrators) certification or equivalent formal Title IX investigator training is highly preferred. LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT • Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License • California Administrative Credential
