KEPPEL UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT PURCHASING / ACCOUNTS PAYABLE DEFINITION Under the general supervision of the Business Services administrator to perform a variety of routine clerical accounting work of average difficulty in connection with purchasing and accounts payable, and to do other related work as required. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES 1. Processes purchase requisitions and purchase orders; 2. Processes invoices for payment; 3. Processes warrants for mailing; 4. Reconciles sales tax reports; 5. Prepares purchase order board report; 6. Interacts with vendors to reconcile problems and to obtain quotes; 7. Orders supplies for District Office; 8. Assists in the processing of district use of facilities requests; 9 Prepares or assists in the preparation of a variety of reports ranging in complexity required by the district, federal, state, and county agencies; 10. Operates a wide variety of standard office machines and equipment including computers; 11. May compose simple or routine letter and memoranda independently; 12. Processes incoming and outgoing mail; 13. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: Modern office practices and procedures; Basic bookkeeping/accounting principles; Operation standard office machines and equipment; Appropriate English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation and arithmetic concepts; Record storage, retrieval, and management systems; Spreadsheet and data management applications. Ability to: Perform mathematical computations of average difficulty with accuracy and speed; Understand and carry out oral and written directions; Prepare and maintain accurate records and files; Use modern office equipment; Communicate effectively in oral and written form; Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with administration, faculty, and co-workers; Routinely and correctly lift and carry weights up to, but not to exceed, 35 pounds.

Experience: One year of paid experience performing varied general office or clerical work preferably in a school district Education High school diploma or equivalent
