**The District reserves the right to close the recruitment regardless of the date or length of the posting period** The person hired for this position can be either non-bilingual or bilingual in Spanish. If non-bilingual, the person hired will be placed on Range 24. If bilingual in Spanish (must pass bilingual test), the person hired will be placed on Range 26. DEFINITION Under the supervision of the Site Administrator and/or designee and the Direction of a classroom teacher, reinforces instruction to individuals or small groups of students with mild to moderate disabilities in a classroom or other learning environment and provides instructional support. Perform related work as necessary or required.

TESTING BY APPOINTMENT ONLY: This position requires passage of a written test (Para-Educator) by 9/29/26. If you would like to be considered for the bilingual range (Range 26) you must pass a second test (Bilingual/Spanish).You will be contacted by Human Resources regarding testing date and time. Testing will be held on the following dates and times: 9/21 @ 9:00 am; 9/22 @ 9:00 am; 9/23 @ 9:00 am; 9/23 @ 2:00 pm; 9/25 @ 9:00 am; and 9/29 @ 2:00 pm. This position also requires that you have at least one of the following: 1) An Associate of Arts degree or higher 2) Have completed at least two years of study at an accredited institution of higher education with a minimum of 48 general education units. 3) Have passed an approved Highly Qualified assessment test that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching, reading, writing and mathematics. (This is in addition to the required Para-Educator test) The written test will be held at the Magnolia School District Office (2705 W. Orange Ave., Anaheim, CA 92804).

SALARY INFORMATION All newly hired employees will start at the beginning rate of pay for the position they are being hired for ($22.52 per hour for Para-Educator/SDC/Mild-Moderate), but the District does provide past experience credit to provide employees a higher salary. The District will provide one (1) year of credit for every completed year of experience with the same or closely related job duties working for a public school district. The District will also provide one (1) year of credit for every two (2) completed years of experience with the same of closely related job duties working for a non-school district employer or private/non-public education employer. If hired, and you have past experience in this position, you will complete our Verification of Experience (VOE) form. The VOE form will be sent to your past employer(s) and once they are completed and returned, the District will review the years of experience and provide service credit as stated above. This will be effective on the most recent pay cycle (not retroactive to the first day of employment).
