A teacher in a Catholic elementary school delivers academic instruction aligned with state or diocesan standards while integrating Catholic values, doctrine, and faith formation into the daily learning environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -Faith Integration: Incorporates Catholic teachings, prayer, and Gospel values across all subjects; prepares students for school Masses, liturgies, and sacraments. -Curriculum & Instruction: Teaches using age-appropriate and engaging instructional strategies. -Classroom Management: Maintains a respectful, structured, and nurturing classroom environment rooted in Christian morality and community. -Assessment & Reporting: Evaluates student progress using formative and summative assessments, communicates growth to parents, and adapts teaching to meet varied learning needs. -Community Participation: Collaborates with colleagues, administration, and parish leadership; attends faculty meetings, professional development, and school events. CORE REQUIREMENTS: -Holds a Bachelor’s degree; -Holds a valid state teaching license or credential (or be eligible to obtain one or be in the process of obtaining one); -Has a strong understanding of the Catholic faith; practicing Catholics are required for religion instruction; comply with the provisions of the Catechist Certification program; . -Possesses a current physician’s certification of freedom from tuberculosis (must be renewed every 4 years), -Completes the diocesan Safe Environment requirements prior to working with children. -Displays a joy and passion for working with children and nurturing their academic and spiritual growth.
