Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the school site administrator, the Secondary Social Worker/Counselor will provide tiered counseling services for students at schools throughout the district; promote early identification of students with social-emotional issues and recommend appropriate interventions, supports and services; address barriers preventing academic, behavioral, attendance and social-emotional success. The Secondary Social Worker/Counselor will participate in parent training and staff development, and assist in the development of preventative services to both general and special education students. The Secondary Social Worker/Counselor may supervise social work interns, depending on experience.

Requirements / Qualifications

- Registration with the California State Board of Behavioral Science as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); or - Possession of a valid California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Pupil Personnel Services with an emphasis in School Social Work - Masters Degree in Social Work or related field, preferred. - Possession of a valid California driver's license
