Irvine International Academy is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and Mandarin-speaking substitute teachers to join our team. As a TK–8 Mandarin immersion public charter school, we offer a unique opportunity to support students in a dual-language learning environment. Position Summary: Under direction, the Substitute Teacher provides large- and small-group instruction in all subjects during the regular teacher's absence. The substitute teacher develops classroom lesson plans or follows lesson plans provided by the teacher to maintain continuity in learning, maintains appropriate student behavior, and provides an orderly learning environment.

Requirements / Qualifications

Possession of a valid California teaching credential with CLAD/BCLAD authorizing service at the elementary or secondary level preferred; or valid emergency 30 Day Substitute Teaching Permit based on the baccalaureate degree and CBEST (California Basic Education Skills Test). Mandarin language proficiency is highly desirable and preferred. Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with students in a Mandarin immersion and multicultural educational environment.
