PERSONNEL TECHNICIAN DEFINITION Under general direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel Services or the designee, to perform, plan, organize, coordinate and participate in a variety of highly complex and responsible and specialized work of a technical and clerical nature related to personnel service functions; to implement division policies and procedures; to assist the department administration and to do related work as assigned. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS Positions in this class perform a variety of complex and technical duties, involving both certificated and classified employees of the District. Employees in this class receive limited supervision within the framework of flexible policies and procedures, which include, but are not limited to, the knowledge and application of appropriate laws, regulations, and policies. The job class assists in the recommendations for policy and procedural changes in relationship to certificated and classified employment processes. The work requires considerable judgment in assembling, evaluating, and communicating information. Incumbents may provide supervision and leadership to other clerical employees. The following duties are typical of the positions in this class collectively, but no one position would necessarily include all of these duties, nor is any one position necessarily limited to any one of these duties.

Requirements / Qualifications

PERSONNEL TECHNICIAN TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Three years of increasingly responsible clerical experience or any combination of training and/or experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities, equivalent to the completion of twelfth grade. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AA Degree and three years of increasingly responsible clerical experience, including some experience working in a school district or personnel office. Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, and one of the following: Must be able to type at a corrected speed of 40 wpm.
