Job Summary

Job Summary

CESD is seeking a creative and enthusiastic certificated staff member to serve as our District Social Media Specialist for the school year. Great things are happening every day across Chowchilla Elementary School District, and we want to do an even better job of telling that story. The person selected for this extra-duty assignment will help CESD celebrate our students, recognize our staff, highlight our schools and programs, communicate the important work taking place throughout the District, and continue building a positive reputation within our community.

Requirements / Qualifications

Requirements: • A strong eye for graphic design and visual communication. • Ability to create professional, engaging social media graphics and posts. • Comfort using Canva or similar graphic-design tools. • Strong writing skills and the ability to turn a school activity, student accomplishment, staff success, or District initiative into an engaging story. • An understanding that social media should be more than simply posting information - it should help tell the CESD story. • Ability to identify positive stories throughout the District and work with staff to gather photos and information. • Careful adherence to all student photo, media permission, privacy, and confidentiality requirements. • Good judgment and professionalism when communicating publicly on behalf of CESD. • Ability to consistently produce approximately one to two quality District posts each week, with flexibility surrounding significant events and accomplishments. • A desire to showcase the outstanding work of CESD students and staff to our families and community. The person selected is not expected to personally attend every school or District event. An important part of the role will be developing relationships with staff throughout CESD who can provide photographs, information, celebrations, and story ideas.
