The Encinitas Union School District (EUSD) is seeking a creative, strategic, and highly skilled communications professional to serve as a Temporary Public Information Officer during an employee leave of absence. Under the direction of the Superintendent, this position leads District communications, public relations, media relations, marketing, digital storytelling, website and social media content, and special event communications. The Public Information Officer serves as a key liaison with the media, families, staff, and community; develops engaging print and digital communications; coordinates photography and video projects; supports the Superintendent and Board of Trustees; and leads communications efforts during emergencies and crises. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer and communicator who demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced educational environment.
Hours: 40 hours per week; 8 hours per day - Monday through Friday; 7:30 am - 4:00pm (includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch)

EUSD is located in the North San Diego County along the coast. It serves nine (9) Kindergarten through sixth grade schools.

Applicants selected from the paper screening process will be invited to interview following pre-interview reference checks with references listed on the EdJoin application. The interview process consists of a panel interview, a written task and a performance task.
The selection process will consist of paper screening, a district administered test, pre-interview reference checks, panel interview, and performance task. Applicants who are selected after a paper screening will be invited to take the District Competency Exam and attend a panel interview.
Additional annual stipends include:
$1,980 Auto Allowance
$720 Phone Stipend
15 paid holidays; 24 vacation days

Successful candidates will be required to pass fingerprint background check, physical and drug screen and provide negative Tuberculin Skin Test result prior to working in Encinitas Union School District.
