Demonstrate successful coaching experience in the sport for which you are interested in coaching with High (Jr. High) School aged students ? Demonstrate knowledge of the fundamental skills and techniques, as well as the advanced techniques needed for the sport in which you are applying ? Demonstrate successful personality and character traits appropriate to educational leadership ? Demonstrate ability to develop and maintain a successful disciplined program ? Demonstrate ability to motivate student athletes ? Demonstrate ability to help students balance a demanding academic workload with an athletic commitment ? Demonstrate ability to instill commitment, discipline, and teamwork in a group of young people of perhaps widely varying athletic ability, socioeconomic background, or language skills ? Demonstrate successful management and organizational skills ? Demonstrate successful ability to work with parent groups, administrators, staff and students ? Demonstrate successful ability to organize and maintain positive communication with the community ? Demonstrate successful ability to follow the National Federation of High School Coaches Code of Conduct and the California Interscholastic Federation Coaches Code of Conduct RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Plan and implement the scheduling of team activities, tryouts, practices, game plans, pre-season and summer activities ? Follow District policies, site procedures, CIF rules and the CIF Coaches Code of Ethics ? Plan and implement study sessions for athletics, utilizing adopted school programs ? Foster training in conduct, ethics and sportsmanship for all participants ? Supervision of the team before, during, and after practices, games and sporting events ? RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and implement the scheduling of team activities, tryouts, practices, game plans, pre-season and summer activities
  • Follow District policies, site procedures, CIF rules and the CIF Coaches Code of Ethics
  • Plan and implement study sessions for athletics, utilizing adopted school programs
  • Foster training in conduct, ethics and sportsmanship for all participants
  • Supervision of the team before, during, and after practices, games and sporting events
  • Verify that each team member is cleared by the Athletic Director before allowing him/her to tryout or practice
  • Distribution and collection of all uniforms and equipment and providing an end-of-the-season inventory
  • Ensure that Tulelake High School Student and Athletic Handbooks are followed
  • Work with the Athletic Director and Principal to solve problems at the school level while supporting the ideas of the program/parent concern procedures
  • Continually review the on-going effectiveness of the program at all levels
