Shasta VIEW ACADEMY Redding Office and Library Assistant POSITION DESCRIPTION SUPERVISOR: Executive Director BASIC FUNCTION: Provide support to SVA’s Librarian, SVA staff, parents, and students by assisting with library functions and student/family services at the Redding Resource Centers. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: A. Resource Center Receptionist • Receive teachers, parents, and students visiting the Redding Resource Centers, provide information and direct them to the appropriate personnel and places. • Assist Special Education and General Education staff with work related tasks such as curriculum distribution, copying, and filing. • Provide secretarial assistance to administrators and staff in Shasta County. • Contact teachers, parents, and students by telephone to verify and to obtain necessary information. • Answer Resource Center phone and text messages and provide information and direction as needed. • Oversee students at the resource center as they wait for parents or their next activity. • Work with administration to coordinate general resource center upkeep and daily maintenance. B. Provide Assistance to SVA Library Personnel • Assist with the management and distribution of curriculum and materials. • Return borrowed library materials to proper location. • Locate and retrieve library materials and equipment as requested. • Work with administration to coordinate general resource center upkeep and daily maintenance. • Contact teachers, parents, and students by telephone to verify and to obtain necessary information.
