Job Summary

Job Summary

The School Social Worker is responsible for monitoring the needs and progress of identified learners in targeted areas. The position requires the ability to modify or adapt systems and programs in order to meet ongoing needs of disadvantaged learners. The School Social Worker may have budgetary responsibility within the scope of the position. The position requires the ability to sequence and integrate multiple projects and programs, as well as develop both short and long term goals. Regular contact with leadership at the school sites, District administration, outside agencies, learners, and families is required. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders in the implementation of identified goals and objectives. The School Social Worker is responsible for the development, coordination, and supervision of special projects, curriculum, and testing programs as assigned by the Site Principals or designees. Depending upon assignment, the School Social Worker may manage an assigned caseload of learners requiring intensive social-emotional, behavioral, mental health, and/or crisis support. Requirements / Qualifications

Valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing service in School Social Work is required or must be obtained within a District-approved timeline when the candidate is otherwise legally authorized to provide the assigned services. Current California Board of Behavioral Sciences license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is preferred. The District may accept a current Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) registration when it can provide legally compliant clinical supervision and the employee remains within the authorized scope of practice.
