We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Varsity Boys Basketball Assistant Coach for the upcoming season. At the the direction and supervision of the Principal, Athletic Director and Varsity Head Coach the applicant: - Will be responsible for the overall administration of the boys basketball program including the Junior Varsity and Freshman levels. - Will identify, recruit, and coach student-athletes; develop practice plans and game schedules, manage the program budget, oversee athletic compliance with respect to the basketball program; and identify, hire, and supervise quality assistant coaches/other support personnel. - Assist in coaching games, conduct practices, travel with and supervise team, communicate with parents - Prioritize health and safety of students first - Devotion to tenets of education-based athletics required - Previous High School or club coaching experience preferred All postings/positions are tentative and pending athletics and Human Resources approval. NO COACH IS TO PERFORM WORK SERVICES/ATTEND PRACTICES WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION FROM HUMAN RESOURCES.

Requirements / Qualifications

* Completion of one of the following courses: “Fundamentals of Coaching” course completion certificate, Online Course, available through National Federation of High Schools (www.nfhslearn.com) or "Coaching Principles” completion certificate. Online course, available through Human Kinetics Coach Education Center (http://www.asep.com/courseInfo/purchase_courseinfo.cfm?CourseID=228&OrgID=28) * "Sudden Cardiac Arrest" course completion certificate. Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * "Concussion in Sports" Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * "Heat Illness Prevention" Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * CPR & First Aid: evidence of current certification. MUST be recognized by the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. (Online Courses Not Accepted) * TB Test: Evidence of current negative test OR Adult TB Risk Assessment Form. (Within 60 days of the application date) * Current Driver License at time of employment.
