Our program cultivates students' natural abilities by offering small classes, individualized learning options, frequent advisement meetings, project-based learning, and interdisciplinary teaching. We are looking for one part-time AP Computer Science Tutor to tutor our high school students in AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A during our fall and spring semesters. This Tutor will be positive, confident, and energetic, making a lasting contribution. Expected qualifications, knowledge, skills, and experience include: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field 3 Years of Teaching/Tutor Experience (as an HS School Teacher or Tutor) Strong content knowledge in the AP Computer Science Course and standard requirements Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and leadership skills Applicants should be comfortable interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and professional levels, ranging from parents to school administrators. Experience working with high school students Teaching credential preferred Applicants should be flexible, resourceful, and able to communicate well with students and families. Duties and Responsibilities Create teaching strategies to engage students and encourage class participation. Present lessons to facilitate students' understanding and application of AP Computer Science concepts Assist with homework Assess student performance to determine if they are learning at an acceptable level and pace. Communicate student concerns or issues to administrators. Location 4947 Alton Pkwy, Irvine, CA 92604 Work Schedule To be determined based on the tutor's and student's availability. Pay $35 to $60 per hour based on experience
