Hello, and welcome to Nevada County Special Education! Our Special Education Services Department is looking for a caring and talented Paraeducator to join our Preschool Intervention Program at TKM in Nevada City. Our preschool serves children ages 3–5 with mild to severe disabilities in a supportive, team-oriented environment. As a Paraeducator, you’ll work alongside experienced classroom staff who will provide training and support, including guidance on using our alternative curriculum focused on functional academics, communication, and daily living skills. You’ll have a well-established classroom schedule to follow, along with a dedicated team ready to support you every step of the way. Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children and their families. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • High School diploma or equivalent --and-- One of the following: • Completion of 48 college semester units • Satisfactory completion of an approved Paraeducator test • Completion of a county approved proficiency test in reading, writing, and mathematics. **Recent, successful experience working with severely emotionally, mentally, and/or extensive needs special education students in an organized setting is a plus!**
