• Must be eighteen (18) years or older • Must meet requirements under California Education Code § 45330 to support students: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one of the following - -Completion of at least 48 semester units of college coursework. -An Associates Degree (or higher). -Pass a formal state assessment (CBEST or district-administered paraprofessional exam). • Possess and maintain a valid California Driver's license and evidence of insurability (plus previous safe driving record). Candidates may be required to possess proof of current California auto liability insurance at time of appointment, and throughout employment in a position in this classification. Use of a private automobile may be required. • Must be able to obtain a valid Food Handler’s certificate issued by an authorized agency within completion of probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment in this classification. • Possess a current CPR and First Aid Certificate (or obtain within 3 months of employment) • Must obtain a Cleared Criminal fingerprint background check through the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) • Must have a cleared TB Test or TB Risk Assessment (Test may be no older than the last sixty (60) days) • Other skills/permits/performance tests may be required depending on the assignment - these may include but are not limited to: First Aid/CPR, writing, reading, math, excel, and/or other job-based skill/competence assessments.
