Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, the Senior Executive Director, Specialty Programs provides leadership, coordination, supervision, and administrative oversight for designated specialty programs, initiatives, and personnel, including Dual Language Immersion and AVID. Supervises and supports the Coordinator of Dual Language Immersion in the implementation, alignment, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the District’s dual language immersion programs. Supports the implementation of the District’s strategic priorities and instructional programs to accelerate student learning, strengthen educational coherence, and maximize the effective use of instructional time. Collaborates with District and school-site leaders to align assigned specialty, academic, student-support, and family-engagement programs. The specific programs and personnel assigned to this position may be adjusted by the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services based on District priorities and organizational needs. The Assistant Superintendent retains responsibility for division-wide strategic direction, final administrative oversight, Board communication, and executive-level decisions.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid California Administrative Services Credential • Master’s Degree or higher in Education, or related field • Minimum of five (5) years of successful administrative and/or leadership experience in a K-12 setting • Prepare and administer large and complex budgets; allocate limited resources in a cost effective manner. • Understand, interpret, and apply federal, state education, and administrative codes, policies, and procedures. • Plan, direct, and coordinate, with department staff, the Expanded Learning department work plan; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign projects and programmatic areas of responsibility; review and evaluate work methods and procedures.
