Job Summary
COJUSD current SPED Aides will have the first opportunity to be considered for the newly created SPED Tech positions. If you are interested in reclassifying, and you meet the requirements, you will need to submit an application through EdJoin by the deadline identified in this posting. Interested current SPED Aides will be offered SPED Tech positions in the following order: -SPED Aides currently performing diapering and toileting duties; -Fully benefited SPED Aides; and -Part-time, unbenefited SPED Aides. For employees who reclassify to SPED Tech, the position is placed at Range 19 ($20.46–$26.11), and employees will maintain their current step placement on the salary schedule. The regular SPED Tech assignment is 5.5 hours per day, 182 days per year plus holidays. However, a current SPED Aide working more than 5.5 hours who reclassifies will maintain their existing daily work hours. Current SPED Aides who reclassify will also retain their District date of hire/seniority date.
