Volunteer: 8th Grade Boys Basketball Coach Arcohe Elementary School is a K–8 school serving 500+ students in Herald, CA. Our athletics program develops athletic skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, confidence, and school pride. Job Summary One (1) opening for 8th Grade Boys Basketball Coach. The coach will lead practices and games, teach basketball fundamentals, and promote teamwork, sportsmanship, effort, accountability, and a positive team culture. The coach will work with the Athletic Director and follow the broader Arcohe boys basketball philosophy to provide consistent expectations, fundamentals, terminology, and development from 5th through 8th grade. The coach will also coordinate practices, games, equipment, communication, and team responsibilities with the Athletic Director. Qualifications Prior basketball coaching or playing experience preferred. Candidates should enjoy working with elementary/middle school-aged students and promote a positive, safe, and inclusive environment. A current resume must be attached. Volunteer Requirements Selected candidates must submit: • Signed Volunteer Code of Conduct Form • Signed Volunteer Application • TB Screening (valid 4 years) • Live Scan Fingerprinting • Automobile Liability Form with driver's license and insurance declarations page • Online Volunteer Training Athletic/Mandated Training Prior to coaching, selected candidates must complete and submit: • Current CPR/First Aid • AED • Concussion • Heat Illness Prevention • Sudden Cardiac Arrest • Mandated Reporter • Bloodborne Pathogens • Fundamentals of Coaching Submit volunteer documents to bourassa@arcohe.net and training/certifications to molina@arcohe.net. All required documentation and training must be completed before coaching responsibilities begin, as directed by the school/district. Candidates may be contacted for an interview.
