Job Summary
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, patrol and monitor campus to maintain order and security in an intermediate or high school setting; and assure student compliance with school and District policies and regulations.

Maintain security of intermediate or high school buildings, grounds, and facilities. E Patrol campus perimeter, lunch areas, hallways, walkways, classrooms, restrooms, gates, parking lots, and bus stops; maintain order and security of campus; escort students to the office for disciplinary action as needed; report unusual activities or unauthorized persons. E Assist visitors with campus orientation and directions; approach visitors and suspicious or unauthorized individuals and determine the reason for being on campus. E Notify personnel to contact the police as needed for potentially dangerous situations involving such issues as drugs, weapons, gangs, or accidents; detain individuals suspected or guilty of illegal or prohibited activity according to established procedures. E Enforce school and District rules, regulations, and policies for the safety and security of students, staff, cars, and property according to established procedures; enforce appropriate parking restrictions and regulations. E Observe students during passing periods between classes; ensure timely return of students to class; prevent unauthorized departure from school premises. E Observe student behavior to assure compliance with school rules; prepare detention slips for student misconduct as appropriate and according to established guidelines; prepare and maintain records of incidents and infractions observed and processed; provide verbal explanations of rules as required. E Operate a mobile communication device as assigned. E
