Position: Middle School Sports Coach Program: After-School Program Schedule: Part-Time, After School Grades: 6th–8th Grade POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking an enthusiastic, responsible, and student-centered Middle School Sports Coach to lead and support our middle school athletic program. The coach will teach students the fundamentals of their sport while promoting teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, physical fitness, and a positive team culture. The ideal candidate is dependable, communicates well with students and staff, and can maintain a structured and safe environment during practices and games. RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Plan and lead organized practices appropriate for middle school students. ? Teach sport-specific skills, rules, strategies, and fundamentals. ? Prepare students for games, tournaments, and competitions. ? Promote teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, accountability, and respect. ? Maintain appropriate student behavior and clear expectations during practices and games. ? Ensure students are properly supervised at all times. ? Monitor student safety and follow school and program safety procedures. ? Set up, organize, and properly store sports equipment. ? Communicate regularly with the After-School Coordinator regarding schedules, student concerns, behavior, injuries, and team needs. ? Work collaboratively with other coaches, teachers, instructional assistants, and school staff. ? Supervise students during transitions, practices, games, and dismissal. ? Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes. ? Follow all school and after-school program policies and procedures. ? Perform other program-related duties as assigned. Qualifications ? Experience coaching or participating in organized sports preferred. ? Experience working with middle school-aged students strongly preferred. ? Ability to manage groups of students effectively. ? Strong communication and interpersonal skills. ? Reliable, punctual
