Job Summary

After School Program Director / Art Support Position Summary The After School Program Director / Art Support oversees the daily operation of the school’s after school program and supports intersession and summer school programming. This position also provides art instruction and instructional support to students during the regular school day under the direction of certificated staff as appropriate. Primary Responsibilities Coordinate after school schedules, activities, enrollment, and staffing. Supervise and provide direction to after school program assistants. Monitor student behavior and provide consistent behavior management and support. Plan projects, enrichment activities, recreational opportunities, and art activities. Provide art instruction and support during the regular school day. Track student enrollment, attendance, participation, and program billing. Communicate with families regarding schedules, activities, billing, and student needs. Support the planning and operation of intersession and summer school programs. Maintain a safe, positive, organized, and welcoming environment. Collaborate with teachers, administration, and other school staff. Perform other duties as assigned based on student, program, and school needs. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Must meet California requirements for an instructional paraprofessional, including at least one of the following: Completion of at least 48 college semester units (two years of college); An associate degree or higher; or Successful completion of a locally approved paraprofessional assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics instruction. Experience working with school-age children preferred. Experience or interest in art instruction preferred. Strong organizational, communication, leadership, creativity, and behavior-management skills.
