Middle School Intervention Teacher Position Summary The Middle School Intervention Teacher provides targeted academic support to students who need additional instruction, intervention, or skill development. The position will primarily support students in math and science, while also providing assistance in other academic areas and school programs as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide individual and small group academic intervention for middle school students, primarily in math and science. Identify student skill gaps and provide targeted instruction based on individual needs. Support students with class assignments, missing work, organization, study skills, and academic planning. Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify students needing additional support and align intervention with classroom instruction. Use assessment data, student work, teacher observations, and other information to monitor student progress and adjust interventions. Provide differentiated instruction appropriate to students' academic levels and learning needs. Support students in developing independence, problem solving skills, organization, and confidence as learners. Maintain appropriate records of student participation, progress, and intervention provided. Participate in student support meetings, including SST, MTSS, or other collaborative meetings as appropriate. Communicate with teachers, administrators, support staff, and families regarding student progress when appropriate. Support implementation of accommodations and instructional supports for students with IEPs, 504 Plans, or other identified needs in collaboration with appropriate staff. Assist with supervision, testing, student activities, and other school responsibilities as needed. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning. Qualifications

Valid California teaching credential or other appropriate authorization as required for the assignment. Experience teaching or supporting middle school students is preferred. Strong knowledge of math and science instruction, differentiated teaching practices, intervention strategies, and working collaboratively with students and staff is desired.

The successful candidate should be flexible, organized, student centered, and comfortable working with students with a wide range of academic strengths and needs.
