Job Summary
1. Sweeps, scrubs, strips/waxes, polishes concrete, linoleum, tile and wood floors; vacuums and shampoos rugs. 2. Assists with cafeteria set-up, takedown, cleaning, and some supervision of students. 3. Responsible for set-up, take-down for assemblies 4. Cleans and dusts walls, furniture, woodwork, lockers, chalkboards, and other equipment. 5. Cleans windows, door glass, drinking fountains, and all metal work; services soap, towel, and paper dispensers. 6. Empties and cleans waste containers, and replaces light bulbs. 7. Reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards to Maintenance Supervisor or Principal. 8. Assists in the maintenance of buildings and grounds 9. Insures that school is secure at end of last shift. 10. Performs other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or Principal. 11. Performs manual labor and minor maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent and valid CA Driver’s License. Pre-employment physical if working outside of normal classification. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of General methods of maintenance and cleaning procedures, use of cleaning materials and yard care; the danger of hazardous materials; appropriate action to prevent injury to self and others. Ability to: Use equipment common to the custodial function; lift 70 pounds on regular basis and be physically capable of bending, stooping and moving furniture during the course of their shift, work independently to complete tasks; follow a schedule; communicate effectively and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work; understand, implement, and give oral and written directions in English; follow general safety and hazardous materials procedures.
