EXAMPLE OF RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Transports students daily over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, escorting them as needed across streets, etc. 2. Transports children and adults on field trips to various locations. 3. Records and logs information regarding transportation. 4. Maintains order and enforces rules on bus; completes accident and discipline reports. 5. Does related work as assigned. 6. Does routine bus safety checks and reports needed repairs. 7. Maintains clean condition inside bus.
Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS: Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License, Valid School bus Drivers Certificate Type 1 (Training to receive your Class B license can be provided upon request.), Participation in random drug testing program as required by CHP, and 18 years of age or older with clean DMV record. MUST BE DRUG & ALCOHOL FREE. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: Laws, rules and regulations regarding operation of a school bus; safety and maintenance requirements; safe driving skills; student discipline technique. Ability to: Maintain order of all passengers; maintain required records; communicate effectively and maintain cooperative relationships with a wide variety of personalities contacted in the course of work; lift up to 40 pounds and be physically capable of bending, stooping and sitting on a regular basis. Experience: Past experience working with children desirable.
