Vista High School is seeking a JV Head Baseball Coach for the 2026-27 school year. Vista High School is a comprehensive high school located in beautiful North San Diego County. Vista High School has a proud athletic tradition and is committed to providing student-athletes with a positive, competitive, and educational athletic experience. VISTA HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL The Vista High School Baseball program is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic coach to lead our Junior Varsity Baseball team and contribute to the continued growth of the overall baseball program. The JV Head Coach will work closely with the Varsity Head Coach to establish consistency throughout the program and prepare student-athletes for future success at the varsity level. The successful candidate will emphasize player development, fundamentals, accountability, teamwork, sportsmanship, academic achievement, and character. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JV HEAD BASEBALL COACH INCLUDE: Plan, organize, and conduct JV practices in coordination with the Varsity Head Coach and overall baseball program. Serve as the Head Coach for the Junior Varsity Baseball team during practices, games, and team activities. Teach and develop baseball fundamentals, including hitting, pitching, fielding, baserunning, and situational awareness. Prepare student-athletes for successful advancement into the Vista High School Varsity Baseball program. Establish a positive team culture centered on accountability, discipline, teamwork, effort, and sportsmanship. Assist with player evaluation and development throughout the baseball program. Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, coaching staff, the Athletic Department, and school administration. Properly issue, collect, maintain, and account for uniforms, equipment, and program resources. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous baseball playing and/or coaching experience.
High school and/or collegiate baseball coaching experience preferred.
Collegiate playing or coaching experience is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, rules, strategies, and player development.
Ability to teach and develop student-athletes at various skill levels.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to establish positive relationships with student-athletes, families, coaches, and school personnel.
Commitment to developing student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally.
Willingness to work collaboratively within the philosophy and structure established by the Varsity Head Baseball Coach.
Ability to maintain high expectations for behavior, academics, effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Must meet all Vista Unified School District and CIF coaching certification and clearance requirements.
