Helix has served its community as a traditional public high school from 1951 - 1996, then as a public charter school from 1998 to present. Helix was the first public comprehensive high school in California to convert to a charter high school, and while much about the educational program has changed to best serve the student population, the tradition of the school has remained. Helix is looking for a Special Education Paraprofessional for the purpose of assisting in the supervision and instruction of students in Special Education under the supervision of a certificated teacher in a special education and/or general education classroom; observing and documenting student progress; implementing plans for instruction; and providing clerical support to teachers. Paraprofessionals in this classification provide direct academic support to students and teachers in service of student learning.
