Job Summary
Job Summary
Under the direction of the site administrator, Instructional Coach/Intervention Teacher is a key implementation role in OPA’s Instructional Improvement and PLC Development Plan. The purpose of the role is to help make the plan real by supporting professors (teachers), strengthening Professional Learning Teams (PLTs), coordinating intervention, facilitating job-embedded professional development, participating in Guiding Coalitions, and building the instructional capacity of the school. This is a non-evaluative instructional support role designed to strengthen professor practice, Champion learning, purposeful collaboration, and the shared professional routines that allow OPA sites to sustain improvement over time. The long-term goal is to help build systems, protocols, habits, and teacher agency so continuous improvement becomes embedded in OPA’s culture rather than dependent on a single coach. Essential Role Commitments Build trust with professors and protect the non-evaluative nature of coaching and professional learning. Focus on improving instruction and Champion Profile learning. Support collaboration that leads to action. Connect intervention, instruction, PLTs, coaching cycles, and professional development into one coherent system. Support OPA’s systemwide instructional methods and help new professors understand the OPA way. Serve as a bridge between classroom practice, site leadership, and districtwide implementation. Build the capacity of teams so improvement becomes part of OPA’s normal professional culture. The I-PLC Coach helps move OPA from isolated professional development to a sustainable culture of continuous learning and improvement. The role supports professors now while building the habits, systems, protocols, and professional agency that allow OPA sites to sustain improvement over time.
