Job Summary
BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor and with direction from a credentialed Speech and Language Pathologist, assists in providing speech therapy services to identify students in accordance with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals; performs a variety of duties in support of student case management services; maintains records and documentation on students and performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Associate’s degree or higher in Speech/Language Pathology from a regionally accredited college/university. Successful completion of a Speech/Language Pathology Assistant program is required. Proof of education (copies of official transcripts or diploma) must be submitted with the application. Experience: Two years of experience working with children with special needs. Some experience working with school aged children with speech and language disorders is preferred. Any combination of training and/or experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be considered. Licenses: Valid California Class C driver’s license. Registration as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant from the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensers Board (at the time of appointment and during employment). Other: Bilingual /Spanish desired.
