Job Summary
Athletics coaches at Ceiba are responsible for supporting Ceiba’s efforts to develop and execute a scholar-athlete program in keeping with Ceiba’s mission of ‘to and through’ college for our scholars. Coaches work closely with Ceiba’s Athletics Director to set goals for the season; gauge student interest; schedule games/meets; locate and vet local facilities for practices and games; ensure that all safety and eligibility requirements are met; manage practice and meet logistics based on the season schedule; and acknowledge student athlete participation and growth. Coaches develop a culture of student leadership associated with their sport (including personal responsibility for the individual and collective responsibility for the team), ensuring that all students demonstrate effort both in the classroom and on the field and messages this throughout the year to scholars, staff, families and the Ceiba community.
