Job Summary

Job Summary

Natomas Unified School District is seeking a Director of Transportation to begin as early as November 2, 2026. The purpose of the Transportation Department is to provide safe, efficient, and reliable transportation services for students across the District. The Director provides districtwide leadership for student transportation operations, including routing and scheduling, transportation safety, fleet management, driver and staff supervision, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position develops and oversees transportation procedures, monitors service delivery, supports the recruitment and training of transportation staff, and works collaboratively with schools, families, District departments, and community partners to address transportation needs and concerns. Requirements / Qualifications

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities could qualify someone for this position. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: ? Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major coursework in transportation management, public administration, business administration, logistics, automotive technology, industrial technology, or a related field. Relevant specialized training or certification in pupil transportation, fleet management, or transportation safety may substitute for portions of formal education where appropriate. ? Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible experience in transportation operations, fleet management, pupil transportation, or a related field, including at least three years in a leadership or supervisory capacity. Experience in school district transportation, public agency transportation systems, or large-scale fleet operations is highly desirable Pre-employment Clearances/Requirements: ? Valid California driver’s license required ? Possession of a California School Bus Driver Certificate and Class B-PS Driver License ? Possession of a California School Bus Driver Instructor Certificate issued by the Department of Education preferred ? Fingerprint clearance ? TB Test Clearance
