GRANT FUNDED POSITION: Under the supervision of the Superintendent or designee, and within the scope of the license, the Family and Community Engagement Specialist/Social Worker will assist students with personal and mental health related concerns that affect school performance, behavior, and socialization. Conduct one-on-one, small group, classroom or school-wide interventions. Serve as an advocate with all community populations utilizing skills that embrace cultural and ethnic diversity as well as equity for all students, family and community. Provide consultative services to students, families, and community agencies in an effort to assist the community of Maricopa. In addition, the Community Engagement Specialist/Social Worker refers families to community agencies, works with community agencies to bring on-site resources, and supports ongoing activities within the Parent & Community Center to foster an ongoing partnership between the home, school, and community.

Requirements / Qualifications

Masters Degree Resume 3 Letters of Recommendation Letter of Intent

Masters Degree from an accredited college/university in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology or related field of study.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Valid California license as an LCSW, LMFT, Clinical Psychologist, or P.P.S. as granted by the State Board of Behavioral Science Examiners (or able to acquire). Valid California Driver’s license. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse groups. Successful experience working with community agencies. Two years experience working in counseling and/or social work
