Chrysalis is a free public charter school sponsored by the Shasta County Board of Education serving students from kindergarten through eighth grade. There is no tuition or discrimination. Our school is intentionally small so that we might really and truly know each and every student and help their individual light shine brightly. We study science as a core subject, use the outdoors as our classroom on Fridays, go camping twice a year as a community, and much, much more. Position: Maintenance Custodian School Year: Who: Chrysalis Charter School Palo Cedro, CA Job Description: Part-Time (Monday - Friday 1:30 pm - 6:30 pm) Salary: $20.50 Per Hour Chrysalis Charter School is unique in many ways - from our mission (“encouraging the light within each student to shine brighter”) through our science and nature emphasis to our organization as a teachers co-op. We are seeking an energetic, flexible and self-starting individual who will advance our core mission to join the Chrysalis Charter School Team. Job Description Maintain school buildings by combining thorough custodial care with basic infrastructure support. Ability to do general custodial work Empty waste containers and recycling containers and dispose of them Clean restrooms, classrooms, and the administrator building thoroughly Work closely with our maintenance department Maintain towels, tissue, and soap dispensers; maintain equipment used in the course of work Effectively communicate problems that arise Perform small infrastructure repairs, such as furniture upkeep, minor hardware fixes, and light patching or painting. Identify and report larger maintenance needs to be handled by contracted professionals. Facilities Scope Please note: External maintenance—including landscaping, building exterior, and HVAC/air filters—is managed by the property landlord. Be reliable and available Monday -Friday (1:30 pm - 6:30 pm) Qualifications: Knowledge of preferred methods of cleaning and preserving floors, window coverings and walls Knowledge of the use of cleaning materials and disinfectants Knowledge of custodial equipment (and ability to use them) Demonstrated aptitude for basic facility maintenance and experience with small repairs. Ability to quickly learn schedules and procedures Ability to perform physical labor including lifting in excess of 50 pounds Understand and carry out oral and written instructions Establish and maintain coope
