The Santee School District is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Coordinator of Payroll Services to lead and oversee all district payroll operations. This management position is responsible for coordinating the accurate and timely processing of certificated and classified payrolls, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, conducting complex payroll and financial analyses, and providing leadership to payroll staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong payroll, accounting, and analytical expertise, along with exceptional organizational and communication skills. This position works closely with Human Resources and Fiscal Services to maintain accurate employee compensation records, support benefits administration, reconcile payroll and financial data, and continuously improve payroll processes and internal controls. The successful candidate will be a collaborative problem-solver who is committed to delivering outstanding customer service while ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance. Required education and experience for this position: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school or equivalent GED; college-level course work in accounting, business or related field; and five years of increasingly responsible experience in payroll, accounting or fiscal services. Some experience in working with public school district payroll, benefits or accounting functions is desirable.
