High school diploma or equivalency is required. In order to comply with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (Public Law 107-110), all paraprofessionals hired after January 8, 2002, must meet one of the following additional requirements: 1) completion of at least two years of study at an accredited college or university (48 semester units): or 2) obtained an associate's (or higher) degree; or 3) met a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrated, through a formal state or local assessment, knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing either (a) reading, writing, and mathematics, or (b) reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.

Classified Schedule E, Range 11; Up to three years of experience will be considered for Salary Schedule placement. The highest placement for new RSD employees will be Step 3 at $23.50 per hour.
