Requirements / Qualifications

DEFINITION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in arts education instruction to students in a classroom or other learning environments; provide support in the planning and preparing of arts standard-based curriculum and arts disciplines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Experience (professional or college-level) in one or more of the following is preferred: visual arts, media arts, music, dance, and theatre. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of: Knowledge of the California Arts Standards and application in a school setting; operation of office equipment including a computer; verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills; interpersonal skills. Ability to: Rehearse/Support and model for students. Teach and reinforce fundamental techniques including concepts of production, arts literacy, articulation, artistry, and technical skills.
