Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Special Education and the principal, teach and instruct middle school students who require remedial and specialized assistance in preacademic, academic, social-emotional, behavioral, adaptive behavior, daily living, pre-vocational skill areas; plan, develop, organize and assist in the operation of comprehensive individualized educational program for students with a variety of disabilities; assist instructional personnel responsible for students with disabilities in making an appropriate adjustment to an educational program requiring an increased level of independence; perform other related functions as required. There are classroom two instructional assistants to support the students.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: -K-8: Education Specialist Instruction Credential—Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Specialist Credential in Special Education—Learning Handicapped or equivalent or currently enrolled in a Mild/Moderate credentialing program with the ability to obtain an intern credential. -Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
