We seek a positive, confident, and energetic coach to join our team and make a lasting contribution to our team effort. Essential Duties The lead coach will teach players the sport's rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques. Organize and direct individual and small-group practice activities and exercises. Assess players’ skills, monitor their performance during competition and practice, and inform the Athletic Director of their athletic progress. Arrange for team games, schedules, & tournaments. Assist in determining game strategy. Assist the basketball director with supervising athletes during practices and competitions. Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury. Model sportsmanship and maintain appropriate conduct toward players, officials, and spectators. Maintain the equipment room in an orderly manner and assume responsibility for its security. Distribute equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students as directed by the Athletic Director. Perform support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records. Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities. Other duties as assigned Requirements Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students. Must possess the ability to independently manage a team of players (12-18 years old). Previous experience in basketball coaching. Excellent communication skills to engage, motivate, and effectively teach students of all levels.
