The Encinitas Union School District (EUSD) is seeking a caring, dedicated, and student-centered individual to join our team as an Instructional Assistant, Specialized Care I (IASC I). This rewarding position supports students with significant medical and specialized care needs in a Special Day Class (SDC) program at La Costa Heights Elementary School. IASC I employees play an essential role in helping students access learning and participate meaningfully in the school day. Working closely with certificated staff and other members of the educational team, this position provides individualized support to help students thrive academically, behaviorally, socially, emotionally, and physically. Responsibilities include reinforcing instruction, supporting classroom routines and learning activities, promoting student independence, implementing individualized behavior and support strategies, and helping create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Because this assignment supports students with significant and specialized needs, responsibilities may also include assisting with mobility, positioning, toileting, feeding, hygiene, and other personal or specialized care needs, consistent with the job description and appropriate training. Work Schedule: 30 Hours Per Week; Monday through Friday; 6 Hours per day Salary placement dependent upon experience; up to 6 years of work experience in the same or comparable classification is taken into consideration for salary placement.
