Job Summary
The job of Mechanical Systems Specialist is done for the purpose/s of providing mechanic services with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; performing repairs and preventive maintenance; ensuring completion of repairs in accordance with trade standards; assisting other mechanics and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site.

Selection Process: Applicants will be required to complete a written examination designed to assess the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the position. Additional Requirements (upon offer of employment): Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance TB Clearance Drug Screen Must complete any mandatory training assigned by the Academy that is generally applicable to the position

Employment Requirements
As a condition of employment, all candidates selected for employment must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings and clearances, which may include, but are not limited to:
Criminal background clearance through fingerprint submission and review as required by California law;
Verification of eligibility to work in the United States in accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986;
Tuberculosis (TB) clearance as required by applicable California laws and regulations; and
Any additional certifications, licenses, examinations, or clearances required for the position.
Employment offers are contingent upon satisfactory completion of all required screenings, verifications, and clearances.
